How I Built an AI SaaS in a Weekend (and Got My First 10 Customers)
The Idea
I noticed real estate agents spending hours writing property descriptions. What if AI could do it in seconds? That's it. That's the whole idea.
The Stack
Frontend: Next.js + Tailwind
Backend: Supabase (auth + DB)
AI: Claude API
Payments: Stripe
Hosting: Vercel
Total cost: $0 (free tiers)
Day 1: Build
Saturday morning, coffee in hand. I scaffolded the app in 2 hours. The core feature (paste property details, get a polished listing description) took another 3 hours including prompt engineering.
By Saturday evening, I had auth, a basic dashboard, and the AI feature working. Ugly but functional.
Day 2: Launch
Sunday was all about distribution. I posted in 5 real estate Facebook groups, 3 subreddits, and DMed 20 agents on LinkedIn. I offered a free trial: 5 descriptions free, then $19/month.
Results
Within 72 hours: 247 signups, 10 paying customers, $190 MRR. Not life-changing money, but proof that the model works.
The lesson: don't build what you think is cool. Build what saves someone 30 minutes of annoying work, and charge them $19/month for it.
